Nicanor García is a photographer and creative director specialized in Architecture and Travel.
Nicanor was born and is based in Barcelona. He is an architect and worked from his own studio, designing several residential buildings, office buildings, educational centers, urban planning and furniture. In 2007 he was a finalist for the FAD Architectural Awards. At the ETS of Architecture of Barcelona he was a professor of architectural design. He has also given classes and courses as a visiting professor at architecture universities in Madrid, Tarragona, Portoalegre and Cuenca (Ecuador).
This experience and passion for architecture and the city allows him to capture their joint essence in his photographic work.
His career as a professional photographer began in 2012, and since 2016 he has worked alongside photographer and artist Shuko Kawase, @studioshuko. Architecture, spaces, cities and culture are their interests, subjects that they photograph and visually explore in a personal and unique way. Nicanor & Shuko photograph all over the world and have done work for clients such as:
Japan National Tourism Organization, Jordan Tourism Board, Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia, Tourism Ireland, German National Tourist Board, Munich Tourism, Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, Iberia, General Electric, Volkswagen, MINI, Mercedes-Benz, La Pedrera, Sagrada Familia, Huawei, Fujifilm, ASUS, among many others.
His photographic work has had solo exhibitions in Barcelona, Beijing, Lisbon, Orense and Tarragona. He has also participated in group exhibitions in Valencia, Burgos and Barcelona. He has conducted workshops on photography in Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Beijing and in Ecuador (Quito, Cuenca and Guayaquil). At Domestika creative community he teaches a basic level 'Architectonic & Urban Photography' online course.
Forbes Spain Magazine included him in the list of 100 best influencers in Spain in 2021 and 2020. In 2019 they also highlighted him as one of the 5 most influential photographers on social networks.
In 2022, together with Shuko Kawase, they were the only Spanish finalists of Fujifim's GFX Grant Program 2021 with a project developed in Petra, Jordan.
Nicanor is an Asus ProArt ambassador and a Fujifilm collaborator. Since 2012, his Instagram @nicanorgarcia has been one of the most followed personal accounts in the field of architecture and travel.
